It's been a loooong while

Gosh I have not been keeping up with this blog very well! Too many social networks to keep up with! Hopefully later when I'm caught up with homework (wahh) I'll post the past couple of mani's I've done!

Saturday, May 21, 2011

Okay so I'm too lazy to just write a blog entry for every nail art thing so I'm just gonna put them all on this post.

Plus my nails are drying as I type so it's kinda difficult to type.

so here's my Easter mani that I did
& more water marbling
More rhinestone action

Some lazy zebra stripes. I used the sponging technique for the background. That was neat
& my mani that I just took off, keeping the animal print theme, some leopard print. With my two favorite colors!
& now I'm caught up!

Now that I'm putting my stuff on this blog I'm going to start taking better quality pictures a.k.a. not with my phone! But this was the first time I used rhinestones & my dotters! If you don't own dotters & like to do your nails you should definitely get some! They are super easy to use & are so worth it! You can get them on ebay for like $2 with free shipping!

But anyway yeah. I just stuck the rhinestones on with a clear polish but I now use glue because when I used polish it looked layered instead of flat. I just painted my tips white put pink yummy bubble gum scented polka dots (thanks Revlon) & then put pink rhinestones on the bottom. They were super cute! But the rhinestones started falling after 3 days so that was a super bummer! None the less I still liked them!
Okay okay I know that the quality of this picture isn't great but I think it's obvious that it's just white flowers with the pink background. I LOVE this pink! It's by Sinful Colors and it has a shimmer to it. I'm too lazy to find the bottle right now but I can tell you that it's the pink version of Red Carpet by Sally Hansen which I also love. I think any nail polish with a shimmer is great to me!

Water Marbeling

This was my first attempt at water marbeling! This one was more trial & error. At first I didn't put white nail polish on the bottom & since the purple was a pastel like color it was practically see through! So I took off ALL the polish off of ALL my nails & started over this time putting white under them. I thought it was going to be harder than it actually was. It just gets messy at time but I definitely like how this turns out!
So after I did that one Aztec print mani, I decided I would do an even harder one. This mani took me hours to complete & I think it's the one I'm most proud of. With that being said here it is
This is my left hand:
& then this is my right hand:
I think for obvious reasons my right hand took more time than my left hand! But I was happy with the results! I haven't tried this mani again just because it's so time consuming but I probably will one day when I'm super bored & have nothing else to do. I also haven't tried it because I like to paint my nails often & I would think it such a waste of work to just wear it three days.
Well let's see. At first I wasn't really into all this nail art & stuff. I just painted my nails, usually just a plain black, and that was about it. Then I started growing out my nails and I really like how they looked so I started getting more into doing my nails. It wasn't until a little bit later until a friend got me into looking at nail art pictures. Well I fell in love with them so I decided to try it out myself. I was fascinated with Aztec print so I thought I would try it out & this is what I came up with

Sorry for the picture being so blurry but yeah. It was kinda messy but it wasn't all that bad. I HATED doing my right hand though. It was sooo hard. My left hand kept shaking! But after a lot of patience I was able to finish.
